Cotford St Luke Parish Council

The Council meets the Second Thursday of every month at 7.30PM in the Village Community Centre; except in August.  All villagers are welcome at the meetings; where you can also meet your SCC and TDBC councillors and your PCSO Sharon Cridlin.

Over the next 6 months; these are the areas that your Parish Council will be focusing on:

Natural Environment

  • Improve highways; footpaths, cycle ways and culverts by ensuring these are maintained (hedgerows are cut, weeds are removed etc) 
  • Reducing litter in the village through purchasing two additional litter bins and organising a twice yearly litter pick
  • Purchasing two additional dog bins
  • Snow and icy weather conditions – purchasing two additional grit bins and liaising with SCC Highways on areas of the village that require additional gritting
  • Maintain and improve bus shelters and Parish Council notice boards
  • Additional signage at roundabouts for Community School and Village Community Centre
  • Removal of obsolete road signs and posts
  • Progressing with the adoption of roads, footpaths, cycle ways and culvert

Village Community Centre Lease

  • Transfer Village Community Centre lease from Bishops Lydeard Parish Council to Cotford St Luke Parish Council (protects asset for village)

Communication

  • Improving communication in the village via website, Welcome Pack for new villagers, regular newsletters and holding annual Parish meeting (in March 2012)
